Changing Appetites

Best friend’s dinner day and at first, Jody and I wanted to proceed to Holland Village for dinner. Who knows, the weather isn’t cooperative with us. We followed the 75 bus route and ended up in Marina Square.

We walked a while and we decided to settle down at Changing Appetites (‘cause we’re too hungry to think). Looking through the menu and we decided on our menu for the day!

Texas Fries - $5.90

The Texas Fries were mixed with fresh vegetables and cheese sauce which blended right with the whole item. It tastes a tinge of spicy-ness and new to us and it’s definitely one of the choice for starters.

AirBorne Salmon - $13.90

Grilled fish always taste best. But as for me, I felt that the fish is slightly over-grilled. As always, for potato lovers, the potato cake was really awesome and you could just savour every single bit of it! Ending the whole dish with just perfectly cooked vegetables, you’ll never regret this dish.

Barramudi - $12.90

With the combination of the zesty lemon and the white fish, the entire taste was just one word - FAB! I really love the taste of the fish, being well-done and yet you’re able to taste the grilled part! With the herbs and vegetables, it just make your day a more complete one.

And that’s all for the day.

OChaCha

Jazreel and I decided to head to our favourite cafe to indulge in the heavenly Green Tea: OChaCha.

Located at the basement level of Paragon, just opposite Starbucks, we settled ourselves on the cozy green chairs. Despite the tiny place, we managed to find seats for ourselves after ordering 2 different desserts to share. We skipped the refreshing drinks this time round, but I’m sure we’ll head back again for it!

                 Matcha Panna Cotta - $4.50

This French-inspired dessert is not too sweet and has a very, very smooth consistency- it melts in your mouth immediately! It is dusted with green tea powder along with light whipped-cream. I liked how this dessert was being presented to us in a traditional Japanese way; dark brown porcelain saucer and a small wooden spoon. The combination of the utensils and the Panna Cotta is just lovely!

                     Matcha Azuki - $4.80

This green tea sponge cake is layered with cream and sweet red beans. As you can see, this cake is pretty light so you can savour it without a hint of guilt. But beware: The crumbs of the sponge cake will fall off the surface of the cake, so don’t forget to lick your plate after you’re done with it! :D There is another version to this: Matcha Cherry. I’m aiming for that on my next trip!

I recommend the Kyoto Cheesecake, Ochaha Rocks rand Azuki Freezie. I tried these during my previous dine-in. They’re fantastic!

I’ll definitely review on this cafe again, just you wait! (;
